Tele-Radiology

Tele-radiology is the practice of having medical images interpreted (read) by a radiologist who is not present at the site the images were generated.

Tele-radiology improves patient care by allowing radiologists to provide services without actually having to be at the location of the patient. This is particularly important when a sub-specialist such as a MRI radiologist, neuro-radiologist, pediatric radiologist, or musculoskeletal radiologist is needed.

Tele-cardiology is the practice of cardiology which utilizes telecommunications, and as such is a new alternate and cost-effective means of providing cardiac care. Learn more in: Electrocardiographic Signal Processing Applications in Telemedicine.
